How long do your treats stay fresh after opening?

Our resealable bags are designed to lock in freshness and keep air out. To retain freshness and prolong shelf life, try removing all of the air inside the bag, tightly seal it and put it in the refrigerator.

Yes, if you wish to do so you can refrigerate our treats. The only treats that require refrigeration after opening are the Artisan Meats Sliders and Deli Slices.

How should I store your food and treats?

Temperatures below 85°F and above 40°F are best to store our food and treats. It is best not to store pet food products in warm to hot conditions as this will increase the chances of rancidity and vitamin break - down. It is also not good to allow products to 'freeze' in cold conditions as this may change the textures of canned products.

Hard as a rock

I've gotten these from other vendors and had no problem. But this was first time ordering from Chewy and was surprised to find them totally rock hard and smelling funny. Chewy is sending a replacement (always good customer service!) but looking now at the recent reviews- it sounds like this is a common problem with the recent batch and so I don't have high hopes for the replacement. Temperature storage issues maybe? Need better quality control not to ship these out when clearly defective.
Overcooked?

Ordered 1 bag. It was hard as a brick. Chewy.com sent a replacement. That too was almost as bad. What is going on? Had to order an item that had a lower protein count, But is softer to protect my older dog's teeth. Are you going to fix the problem?

I spent a lot of money on joint supplements for my picky GSD who would not eat any except these! I had to break down the others in his food and any way for him to eat the others and still he would know. He gets excited to eat these! I would definitely recommend these to anybody!

Have been ordering these for nearly three years now, ever since Molly was a puppy and had to have knee surgery at 6 mos. These last 2 bags are different. I noticed immediately by the color (these are much darker!), THEN the package. And Molly isn't nearly as excited by them! Before she couldn't wait to get one, now she will take it then drop it on the floor. You carried 2 different ones in the blue bag for awhile. If the manufacturer discontinued one, please pass this along and BEG them to go back to the old recipe! And if you just stopped carrying the other one? PLEASE bring it back!!!! She's picky enough as it is! My Mastiff is picky about his treats but he loved these and they are helpful to his body for hip and joint, which is awesome! I ordered the smaller bag because of not being sure if he would eat them, needless to say I will be ordering the bigger bag next time around

Our 8 year old, 85 pound Border Collie and Lab Mix is....Well, he Loves treats and this jerky treat is not only Beneficial but Extremely tasty too according to him and his buddy, Princess Cat lol. They both LOVE it! Every time he gets one, she gets a tiny piece and of course he Always finishes first and Stares at her whilst she's trying to finish lol. We have also noticed how much this has helped him when he gets up and down. It's a bit pricy for our budget but hey, anything for our Babes right?! It works and we recommend! :)

This last bag was very stale please use fresh products, stale products give Chewy a bad name. I will buy one more but if it's not fresh I will not be buying more.
